Carlinville City Council June Meeting

Leslie Boatman reached out to the Board to request that another Flotilla be held on July 25 this year. The same route will be used, and this year’s theme will be “Freedom Ride” to coincide with the 250th birthday celebrations. The Board approved this event.
The 109 West and Unhinged Motorcycle Club will be hosting a Bike Night event on August 22. The group would like to temporarily close North West Street and Sonnemann Street from the rear of Body Depot to North West Street, which the Board approved.
Randy Ober will be resigning from his position as Alderman for the City of Carlinville Ward 4, effective June 30. Mayor Downey presented Randy Ober with a plaque honoring his 22 years of dedicated service, leadership, and commitment to the citizens of the City of Carlinville. The Mayor said that Ober has contributed significantly to the growth, progress, and well-being of our community. His service, integrity, and devotion to public service have made a lasting impact on the City and its residents. The City extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude for his years of faithful service, and for the positive difference he has made in the lives of those he has served. The Board wishes Randy their deepest thanks and best wishes.
