District Spotlight
The Carlinville school board honored the students who earned straight A’s for the 2025-2026 school year. Each student was given a certificate, a pin, and a letter, if they had not already received one. Dr. Schuchman, the Superintendent, said the School District wanted to honor and recognize the students who earned straight A’s since academics are as important as band and sports. They honored the students in the summer because they had to wait for the final grades to come in. Several students did not attend since they were on the band trip or had other plans. The straight A students for this school year were: Freshman: Eleanor Behme, Aleah Boehm, Molly Carriker, Noah Genetti, Sylvee Gibbs, Claire Goesmann, Evelyn Graves, Lyla Kahl, Claire Matthews, Shaelyn Molloy, Jenna Quarton, and Blakely Swan; Sophomores: Douglas Aikin, Mary Behme, Natalie Bowman, Hadley Dugan, Peyton Elvidge, and Paxton Walch; Juniors: Catherine DeLong, Michael Kaganich and Gabrielle Stoops; and Seniors: Taylor Brandenburg, Elyse Eldred, Riley Owsley, Bailey Rodgers and Hannah Truax.
Communications, Reports, and Approval
The Board approved the resignations of Jason Crowell as boys’ assistant soccer coach; Terri Jett as a cafeteria worker, but remaining as a bus driver; Allison Fancil as a paraprofessional at CPS; and Heather Payne from a full-time bus driver and will remain as a sub driver and a paraprofessional. All resignations were effective immediately.
