Carlinville Cub Scout Pack 65 held their annual Blue and Gold banquet on Feb. 25, at the Elks Lodge.

This banquet is the celebration of Cub Scouting. Scouts and their families enjoyed a chicken and pork chop dinner followed by an award presentation. Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light scouts earned achievements that they have been working for the past few months. Several Bear and Webelos Scouts were acknowledged for earning their Whittling Chip and received their own pocket knife. These scouts have learned and demonstrated an understanding of knife safety and care. A special Crossover Ceremony was preformed by The Order of the Arrow Lodge 132.

During the ceremony, Bram Peterson and Hudson Summer received their Arrow of Light Rank. This is the highest Cub Scouting achievement. The award goes to cub scouts  who have completed their Webelos Rank and prepares them for Boy Scouting. Bram and Hudson also received their Arrow of Light Plaque and a ceremony arrow symbolizing the boy’s’ achievements during their Cub Scouting career. Bram and Hudson presented their parents with an Arrow of Light pin to thank them for all their support during the boys’ years in Cub Scouts.

Following the ceremony, cake was served and entertainment was provided by Professor Longhair Grande Illusions.
