When the date is your town’s ZIP code, there needs to be a big party to celebrate. On June 26, 2026 (62626) was a day to celebrate Carlinville. In the early afternoon, there was the Jubilee on the Courthouse lawn, and in the evening, the City Square became alive.
Even though it was a rainy day, the Jubilee received a great turnout. The fun began at 11 a.m. with “Hats, Boots, and Pearl Snap” entertaining the crowd waiting for the parade of Model A cars and old trucks.
At noon, the City’s sirens and some church bells went off signaling the start of the Jubilee that celebrated 100 years of Route 66 and Carlinville. The Jubilee Emcee, Dan St Onge, and Mayor Doug Downey welcomed the community at “Home Base” on the West side of the Courthouse lawn.
