Michael Albert Podshadley

 

Michael Albert Podshadley, 61, of rural Girard, passed away at his residence on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

 

Michael was born January 16, 1965, in Litchfield, IL, the son of Max and Anita (Langford) Podshadley.

 

Michael graduated from Virden High School. Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Navy during Desert Storm. He proudly served his county from 1985-1992. Later in life, he worked as a truck driver for several years.

 

One of his favorite places to go was Idaho. He was a Ford guy by heart and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He also was an EMT for Farmersville for several years.

 

Surviving is his fiancé, Christina Martin of Girard, IL; sons, Will and Josh Podshadley of Chatham, IL; stepdaughter, Kayla Raymond of Alabama; step-son, Joe Raymond; grandkids, Joseph, Hunter, Mackenzie, and Jackson; sister, Carolynne Calloway of Virden, IL; nieces and nephews, Priyanka Pallakil, Vikram Pallakil, Jon Calloway, Ryan Calloway; close friends, Jason Traylor, Donovan Traylor, Michael and Carole Garbett; and adopted family, Kelsey, Ryan, and Heather.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Cheryl Pallakil.

 

Per Michael’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden, IL.

 

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden, IL.
