Noah Convery had 10 strikeouts in Carlinville baseball’s 5-1 victory over Auburn last Monday. Noah Convery gave up three hits and one run over five innings while walking one.
Carlinville was the first to get on the board in the third when Noah Convery singled, scoring one run.
Ian Ronald collected the save.
Blake Killam led Carlinville with two runs batted in. He went 1-for-4 on the day. Noah Convery led Carlinville with two hits in two at bats.
Carlinville won 9-8 over Greenfield/Northwestern last Wednesday. The game was tied at eight in the bottom of the eighth when Colin McKinney was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Blake Killam drove in four runners in the win. He went 2-for-3 on the day.
Greenfield/Northwestern got on the board in the top of the first with a run.
Greenfield/Northwestern committed an error, which helped Carlinville tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Greenfield/Northwestern took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third.
In the bottom of the third inning, Carlinville went back into the lead after Blake Killam walked, and Michael Kaganich grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.
Greenfield/Northwestern scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at three in the top of the fifth.
Carlinville took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Blake Killam doubled, scoring two runs to give Carlinville the lead, 5-3.
Greenfield/Northwestern tied the game at five in the top of the seventh.
In the top of the eighth, Greenfield/Northwestern extended the lead to 8-5.
Carlinville jumped into the lead in the bottom of the eighth when Blake Killam singled, scoring one run, Michael Kaganich doubled, scoring two runs, and Colin McKinney was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Colin McKinney earned the win for Carlinville. He surrendered two hits and three runs over one inning, striking out one and walking three. Drew Quarton started on the mound for Carlinville. He gave up four hits and three runs (two earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking three. Ian Ronald appeared in relief for Carlinville.
Carlinville tallied nine hits in the game. Paxton Walch, Drew Quarton, and Blake Killam each collected two hits for Carlinville.
Carlinville lost 16-1 to Byron last Friday. Ian Ronald had a hit and run scored. Drew Quarton had a hit. Colin McKinney had a hit.
