Arts, crafts, food, entertainment highlight MCHS Fall Festival, Sept. 20-21

Experienced blacksmiths will demonstrate period blacksmithing techniques at the Blacksmith Shop at the Macoupin County Historical Society’s Fall Festival Sept. 20 and Sept. 21.

Featuring old time arts and crafts, food, fun and free entertainment, the Macoupin County Historical Society’s annual Fall Festival is slated for Sept. 20 and Sept. 21, on the society’s grounds at 920 West Breckenridge, Carlinville. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Admission to the grounds and parking are free of charge.

“This is the big one,” said Dan Hauter, MCHS President. “Of all our fund- raising events, the Fall Festival draws the largest crowds, the most vendors and the most money raised to help the society maintain the property and offer outreach programs. Retailers count on the Christmas season to make their year. The Historical Society counts on the Fall Festival.”
