Lyndal E. Cloud

Lyndal E. Cloud, 81, of Shipman, passed away at his residence on Feb. 28, 2025.

He born on Aug. 31, 1943, in Carlinville the son of Asa and Phyllis (Mathis) Cloud.

Lyndal graduated from Gillespie High School and earned a Master of Education from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He completed Army Officer Candidate School and met Jeannette (Grems) Cloud while stationed at Fort Des Moines, IA. They wed on Dec. 16th, 1967, in Gillespie.

The Army honorably discharged Lyndal as a First Lieutenant.

He worked as a Reading Specialist and retired from Community Unit School District #7.

He cherished time spent with family and friends, often pursuing his many talents and hobbies.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Cloud; son, Matthew (Kerri) Cloud; grandchildren, Logan and Isabelle Cloud, and Daryn Henke; great-grandchildren, Addison, Jayleigh, and Bennett Henke; brothers, Lee Cloud of Shelbyville, Layne (Sharon) Cloud of Gillespie; uncle, Harold (Reba) Mathis of Troy;  in-laws, Harold (Pam) Grems of Mankato, MN, Sharon (Gary) Pearson of Meridian, ID,  and Les (Debbie) Grems of McCall, ID; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Phyllis Cloud; brother and sister-in-law, Lanny and Debbie Cloud; sister-in-law, Bonnie and niece Nicole Cloud and nephew, Tim Pearson.

There were no funeral services.
