JFL Week 2: Staunton and North Mac trade two wins

North Mac and Staunton traded two victories against each other in Week 2 of the Junior Football League season.

In the jamboree, North Mac’s fifth graders rolled to victory, 34-6, while Staunton’s sixth graders did the same on the other end of the field, 22-6.

In the afternoon, North Mac’s seventh graders dominated, 40-0, and Staunton’s eighth graders secured the rivalry split with a 28-6 triumph.

In other action, Carlinville’s fifth and eighth graders earned road victories at Hillsboro. Southwestern’s seventh graders held off Greenville in a 6-2 barnburner. Gillespie hosted Vandalia but came up empty.

Next week, Gillespie travels to Pana and North Mac to Piasa while Staunton hosts Litchfield and Carlinville welcomes Greenville.
