The 28th annual Macoupin and Montgomery Counties’ Crime Stoppers annual fundraising tournament was recently held at the Indian Springs golf course in Filmore.

Approximate financial numbers have yet to be calculated, according to Bob Sons. However, this year’s event was once again a huge success as it featured 42 teams of four players that came out to support and compete in an 18-hole scramble.

The Crime Stoppers were additionally serving their famous pork chops. Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl and Chief Deputy Quinn Reiher handled the cooking duties, using a treasured special recipe.

Many other volunteers assisted as well, including board members, past and present.

This was the main fundraiser that helps the Crime Stoppers pay for their tips.
