Mary Jane (Brown Lovens) Angelo

 

Mary Jane (Brown Lovens) Angelo, 84, of Springfield, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026, surrounded by her family at home after an extended valiant battle with cancer.

 

She was born on April 22, 1941, in Divernon IL, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Mary Ellen (Welsh) Brown.

 

She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed people, flowers and birds, UConn Huskies women’s basketball, dancing and golfing. She was known for her joyful personality and radiant smile, making loved ones and strangers feel special.

 

Jane and Coy Angelo were blessed to marry on April 7, 1979, and shared 47 years of marriage, living in Guildford, CT, for 35 of those years. They returned to Illinois in 2020 to enjoy their retirement.

 

She married James Clinton Lovens on July 2, 1959. They enjoyed 16 years of marriage, raising their three children in Divernon until Jim’s death in 1976.

 

She is survived by her husband Coy; children, Jim (Deb) Lovens, Judy Lovens, Lori Lovens, Tom Angelo; sisters, Martha Matte, Jean Applegate; grandchildren, Sadie (Luke) Mathis, Parlee (Charles “Dusty”) Reeve, Adam Cole (Danielle Wheeler,) Justin Cole (fiancé Emma Flott,) Kendra Fustin (Colleen Fitchett,) Ayden Angelo, Ashton Angelo, Ava Angelo; great grandchildren, Clinton Lovens (fiancé Emma Johnson), Verna Mathis, Lyle Reeve, Etta Mathis, Lanie Reeve, Harper Wheeler-Cole: many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Mary Brown; her first husband James Lovens; brothers George Brown, Alan Brown and Frederick who died in infancy.

 

Services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Bramley Funeral Home in Divernon located at 150 Reichert Road. Visitation will be from 10 a.m until time of Memorial Service at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Brush Creek Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be in the Bramley Reception Hall at 150 Reichert Road from 1 to 3 p.m.
