Carlinville fell to Litchfield/Mt. Olive 5-3 last Tuesday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the seventh when Litchfield/Mt. Olive scored two runs.
Litchfield/Mt. Olive got on the board in the first inning, scoring one run.
Carlinville scored on a wild pitch, which helped Carlinville tie the game at one in the top of the second.
A fly out by Drew Quarton gave Carlinville the lead, 2-1, in the top of the third.
Litchfield/Mt. Olive tied the game in the bottom of the fourth.
Ian Ronald took the loss for Carlinville. The reliever went one and one-third innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out three and walking none. Drew Quarton stepped on the hill first for Carlinville. He allowed four hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out six and walking six.
Paxton Walch, Noah Convery, Colin McKinney, Ian Ronald, and Michael Kaganich each collected one hit for Carlinville. Colin McKinney led Carlinville with one run batted in. He went 1-for-2 on the day.
