Carlinville Boys Basketball Wins One, Loses One

Carlinville boys basketball won once and lost once last week.

 

Carlinville lost 47-40 to Auburn last Tuesday. Carlinville was leading at the end of the first quarter and was within two points at the end of the second and third quarters before Auburn outscored Carlinville 12-7 in the fourth quarter to come away with the seven-point win.

 

Carlinville led 12-9 after one quarter, trailed 25-23 at halftime and trailed 35-33 after three quarters. Tate Duckels had 13 points, Sawyer Smith had 11 points, Noah and Reed Convery had four points apiece, Cameron Cooper and Auggie Rowe had three points apiece and Joel White had two points.

 

Carlinville then defeated Greenfield-Northwestern 59-46 last Thursday. Greenfield-Northwestern led 18-9 after the first quarter before Carlinville outscored Greenfield-Northwestern 14-7 in the second quarter to cut the deficit to two points at 25-23.
