Staunton runs the table at SCC golf meet

The Staunton High School golf teams ran the table at the South Central Conference meet, with both of the boys’ and girls’ squads taking home the title.
The boys outlasted Carlinville in a tight draw with 313 shots to the Cavaliers’ 315. Litchfield took third place at 325 followed by Pana (327), Hillsboro (331), Vandalia (339), Southwestern (345) and Greenville (354).
The girls shot 417 and defeated Litchfield (431), Hillsboro (433), Pana (438), Greenville (442) and Vandalia (448).
In addition, sophomore Kaliana Buehler was the girls’ individual medalist for the Dogs, shooting an 88. Jersey West (90) and Jacqueline Enrietta (93) filled the second and third slots for North Mac on the All-Conference board. Also joining Buehler was Gillespie’s Madison Durston in ninth (102) and her teammate Izzabell Janus in 10th (103).
