On Aug. 21, Carlinville Mayor Doug Downey met with local business owners and members of the Carlinville Chamber of Commerce at the Carlinville Area Hospital to outline future strategic usage of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds.
The purpose of this session was to allow Downey to collaborate and establish connections with the local businesses as to how they could best invest in and improve the Carlinville economy.
Downey provided a comprehensive overview of the TIF districts while explaining their purpose and past usages.
