CUSD1 Fine Arts Festival to be held May 6

The Carlinville School District will hold its 4th Annual Fine Arts Festival on May 6. The Festival will be held at Carlinville High School from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the evening.

The event will feature work and products from programs throughout the district in the areas of art, music, agriculture, career tech, life skills and more.

The main event is an art showcase featuring the work of Carlinville students in grades Pre-K through twelfth grade. The artwork features will be prepared and presented by elementary art teacher Melissa Suits, middle school art teacher Rose Grace, and high school art teacher Mallory Daugherty. There will be focused displays showcasing the talents of the various clubs and classes within the district, as well as the CIS Art Club and a special display of elementary projects made possible through the funds of the Carlinville Public Schools Foundation grants.

Interactive music stations, tech demonstrations and make-and-take craft stations will be available for students to participate in and enjoy.

In addition to art and music stations, guests will want to be sure to bring their wallet. The CMS and CHS Agriculture classes and FFA groups, and the CMS/CHS Consumer Technical Education (CTE) classes will all have products for sale at the event. Students have been hard at work growing plants, canning jellies, baking cookies and constructing wooden tables, shelves, home decor and more for purchase at this year’s festival.
