James Challans

James Challans, 71 of Pana, passed away on Saturday morning, March 1, 2025, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.

James was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Pana, a son of Kenneth Patrick and Imogene (Carter) Challans.

James graduated from Pana High School with the class of 1972.

He served in the Navy for three years.

James worked at ADM in Decatur, as a locomotive engineer for 25 years before retiring.
He loved to ride his Harley motorcycle.

James is survived by his sons, Jamie Challans of Vandalia, Jarad Challans of Pana; granddaughter, Sierra Challans and brother, Rick (Jolayne) Challans of Ramsey.

James was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marla G. Leighand infant brother, David Challans.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.

Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.

Memorials may be made to Silver Club VA Hospital Danville.
