The Carlinville High School Post-Prom fundraiser event at the Moose was a huge success, attracting a large turnout. A large crowd dined in and an even bigger one lined up for pick-up drive-thru orders. By the start of the event, the line had already wrapped around from the parking lot all the way out to the road. By the start of the Carlinville High School Post-Prom fundraiser at the local Order of Moose, a huge turnout of vehicles had already lined up and wrapped around from the parking lot all the way to the road.
The Moose started serving a fish and shrimp dinner with baked potatoes and cole slaw (dine-in, pick-up and drive-thru) at 5:30 p.m. the evening of Feb. 28. By 6:15 p.m., everything was sold out.
Final funding totals have yet to be announced, but all money raised will help the CHS Post-Prom committee pay for entertainment while covering its event insurance and attendance prizes.
This year’s Post-Prom activities include a bungee run, hippo chow down, ‘leaps and bound’ obstacle course, and rapid flash combat inflatables.
Complete plans aren’t finalized. However, the Post-Prom typically features a kickball/dodgeball tournament where cash prizes are given to the first and second place finishers. Backyard games such as bags, giant Jenga, and spike ball are also expected to be set up along the track at the Demuzio Center. Other activities include card and board games.
The Moose is a loyal supporter of the CHS Post-Prom. In addition to partnering for dinners, the committee has additionally held music trivia events and comedy nights over the years.
“The 2025 Post Prom Committee has held a few fundraisers over the school year and have a couple more to finish out our goal,” said Paula Campbell. “We are so appreciative of the Carlinville Moose. The Moose has a perfect system set up for their dinners. From cooks to dine-in, walk-in, carry-out and a great drive-thru process, it takes several volunteers to make everything run smoothly from taking orders to delivery, cooks, servers, and clean up. The Post Prom Committee would like to thank everyone who came out to support us and a special thanks to the Moose and their members for partnering and providing the great meal.”
The next CHS Post-Prom fundraiser will be Wed., March 12. A mostaccioli dinner, sponsored by the CHS student council, will take place from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the CHS cafeteria ahead of the student/faculty basketball match.
