The City of Carlinville receives funding for Transportation Electrification Plan in partnership with Ameren Illinois

A recent press release from Bobbi Bates, City of Carlinville, Zoning Administrator/Economic Development Coordinator, announced funding would be coming to Carlinville for a T.E.P.

The release states “The City of Carlinville is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded funding through the Ameren Illinois Community Engagement and Consultation (CEC) program to implement our transportation electrification plan, developed in collaboration with Ameren Illinois. This assistance will enable us to enhance and expand our transportation infrastructure in ways that align with our community’s goals.

This strategic investment will empower us to take various actions, which may include:

• Installing EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) at priority locations

• Partnering with local businesses for EVSE infrastructure installations

• Launching an EV outreach and education program

These actions align with our community’s vision and priorities and will be detailed further as our implementation plan evolves.

Key benefits of implementing this plan include:

• Improving local air quality and residents’ health

• Saving on fuel costs and vehicle maintenance expenses

• Attracting new residents and businesses

• Supporting workforce and economic development

• Aligning with state policies and accelerating sustainable practices for better community resilience and compliance

We recognize that this initiative will take time to fully realize, and we appreciate your patience as we work towards our long-term vision.”
