Alice F. Walter

Alice F. (Mayes) Walter, 75, of Carlinville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Lakeside Health Care in Carlinville.

Alice was born Sept. 19, 1949, in Waverly, a daughter of Floyd and Ida (Ferris) Mayes.

Alice graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1968.

She married David Walter on February 29, 2000, at the Macoupin County Courthouse.

Alice was a cook for Carlinville Area Hospital, Carlinville Senior Center, and Carlinville Estates, retiring in 2016. She enjoyed cooking for anyone and everyone.

She loved shopping on QVC, watching TV and her little dogs.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Jason) Shepard of Girard; four grandchildren, River (Kim) Mercer, Tiffany Mercer, D.J. Mercer, Tyler Shepard; great-grandson, Tate Crifasi; sisters, Betty Mayes of Eastland, TX, Rose Helm of Eastland, TX; two nieces; several great nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
