Betty Jo Moses

Betty Jo Moses, 80, of Carlinville, passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at Lakeside Health Care in Carlinville.

Betty was born Jan. 1, 1944, in Athens, TN, a daughter of William Earskin and Cora Lee (Newman) Moses.

Betty went to the 6th grade. She had to drop out of school to help her father on the farm.

She was a homemaker, worked as a waitress and for the Department of Rehabilitation Services. After that, she chose to baby sit because of her love for children. She baby sat for her grandkids and everyone else’s kids. She was always loving, caring and so compassionate.

Betty was raised in a Christian home. She enjoyed going to church.  A big passion of hers was music. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Vince Gill and boy did she love to dance.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Stephanie (Brenton) Beard of Carlinville, Carolyn (Chris Devine) Foster of Huntington, TX; step-son, Rick Dugger of Palmyra; grandchildren, Katie Orr, Lakin Orr, Dakota Lovelett, Martika Nance, Kristan Foster, Hailey Foster, Cheyanna Pura; great-grandchildren, Hayden Orr, Colin Orr, Bently Nance,  Jaxon Jones, Mkayla Jones, Camryn Jones, Ember Jones, Abel Roberts, Kashton Roberts and Ezra Pura.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth Parrish, Mildred Juanita Sargent and brother, Junior Moses.

There will be no services for Betty Jo Moses.

Burial will be held at a later date in New Cannan Cemetery, Dutton, Alabama.
