Ileine Melissa Bond

 

Ileine Melissa Bond, 93, of Staunton, passed away at Staunton Health and Rehab Center on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 11:35 p.m.

She was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Hartford to Vester Smith and Clara Seeger Smith.

She married James R. Bond on Dec. 26, 1953 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bunker Hill.  He preceded her in death on April 23, 2005.

She was a bank teller for over 25 years for First National Bank in Staunton.

Ileine was a member of the Staunton Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Ladies and Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton where she was also a Ladies Aid.

Ileine enjoyed gardening, fishing, flowers, the outdoors and being social.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly (Kent) Kramer of Staunton; son, Brian (Carol) Bond of Staunton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Haislar Sophia Bond, Victoria (Brady) Rogalla; great grandchildren, Sarah, Kate, Benjamin, Chloe and Waylon.

Ileine was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; infant daughter, Brenda Sue Bond; siblings, Marcella Schoeleber, Geraldine Diestelhorst, Dolores Smith, Mossaline Smith and Cletus Smith.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton.  Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church, Staunton or Zion Lutheran School, Staunton.
