Activity
Recommendations
Following a discussion held earlier this summer about a change to the activities provided by the district, the activity committee came up with some recommendations for the district to adopt regarding adding activities to be district-funded and changing the salary schedule for some positions.
The activity committee recommended the following self-funded activities be made district funded: High School and Middle School Bowling, Middle School Golf, Middle School Baseball, Middle School Softball, Middle School Cheer. The recommendations from the committee included the district funding Saturday transportation.
The board also approved the second reading of a policy regarding district activities. The policy outlines the steps needed to create a district sponsored, but not funded activity, and steps as to make the activity district funded in the future if applicable. There is also a possibility of activities being made self-funded or being eliminated if there is a lack of participation, extensive cost for the activity or there are larger financial concerns in the district.
Other Business
Work began on the Primary School Playground earlier this week. Several other summer projects are still on-going.
The board approved a surplus resolution for items removed from North School and other district items.
