Kenneth Leslie Huff

Kenneth Leslie Huff, 74, of Chesterfield went to his Heavenly Home at 4:04 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024.

Kenny was born on Aug. 20, 1949, in Carlinville. He was the son of the late Harold and Geradine Huff.

He married Rosemary Pressler in Carlinville on June 7, 1969.

He was a member of Southwestern High School Class of 1967.

Over the years he worked various jobs including; Chesterfield FS, a Farm Hand for Vance Dwyer, Laborer for Central Laborers out of Jacksonville and full time Farmer.

He was an avid gardener and loved canning and pickling the vegetables and then sharing his bounty with others. His large garden was his pride and joy during the summer months. You could find him out there “supervising” and ensuring things were done to his approval.

He loved to take others’ scrap and turn it into his treasures. He loved scraping metal and stripping wire to convert it into his spending cash. In the winter, you could find him sitting at the kitchen table picking out walnuts. He would be willing to trade a jar of nuts for fresh baked goods.

He is survived by his son, Daryn (LaCreatia) Huff of Greenfield; daughter, Lori Huff of Kirksville, MO; daughter, Jessica (Jon) Fish of Trimble, MO; daughter-in-law, Debbie Huff of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Alex (Kacie) Huff, Derek and Caleb Huff, Michaela (Justin) Goode, Camryn and Bryce Huff, Jonathon, Kenlee and Lauren Fish; great grandchildren, Brynna Huff, Bailey, Xoe and Dixie Green, Adelyn and Hudson Goode; multiple nieces and nephews; sister, Lois White (companion, Randy Link) of Carlinville.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rosie; parents Harold and Geraldine Huff; brother, Lyndall Huff; infant sister, Joyce Huff and his son Bryan Huff.

Visitation was on Friday, April 26 with funeral services immediately following at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton, with Andy Glenn officiating. Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville.
