Christopher Deffenbaugh

 

Christopher Bradley Deffenbaugh, 69, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

He was born August 31, 1954, the son of  Margie Deffenbaugh and  Glen Deffenbaugh (deceased).

He had lived most of his life in Carlinville, attending elementary through high school where he graduated with the class of 1972.

Chris was a talented musician spending most of his years playing in various bands. He also operated a music shop for seven years.

In 1978 Chris married Kim Miller of Auburn. Although they later divorced, with the exception of a couple of months they have been together 45 years.

He is survived by his mother, Margie; Kim Miller; daughter, Becki; son, Glen; sister, Jude (Steve Bywater) Jones of O’Fallon, MO; brother, Robert (Meloney) Deffenbaugh of Chatham; several grandchildren, including Kingston who lived with them, and Waylon; several nieces and nephews.

To sum up Chris’ personality. He lived in his own world, was a quiet person but a deep thinker, and he fought a good fight to the end.

No flowers but donations may be made in his name to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville.

There will be a private family service  at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery.
