Keith Leroy Royer, Sr.

 

Keith Leroy Royer, Sr., age 92, arrived in his Heavenly Home April 3, 2023. He was a resident of Carlinville, for 61 years and recently moved to Tennessee.

Keith was born August 8, 1930 to his parents Roy and Margaret Royer, he had two sisters, Ruthanna and Mary Kathryn, and one brother, Carl. He grew up on the family farm in Industry, IL and was a member of the undefeated 1946 Industry Indians football team.

He married Roselene “Rosie” Shore on March 2, 1949. They celebrated 65 years together and had two children, Keith Jr. and Mitzie.

Keith was a master of all trades, working in machine operating, equipment repair, construction, blacksmithing and repairing instruments for his wife Rosie’s music store.

Music and singing was a part of their lives together as a family. They would sing for church, special occasions, family reunions and other church’s activities.

They were members of the First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville for 61 years. Keith began working full time for the Illinois District Assemblies of God in 1962 at Lake Williamson. He made himself known by building friendships with the Carlinville officials at early morning breakfasts.

Keith was a very loving husband, dad, and provider for the family, from sunrise to sunset. He worked hard all his life, but spent time with his family. His worthy ethics are carried on in his children and grandchildren.

Keith is survived by his son, Keith Leroy Royer Jr, with spouse Purisima Royer (DeGuzman); Daughter, Mitzie Roseanna Brumback and her husband Michael Brumback Sr.; grandchildren Rosemilaine Royer Warner (Tobin), David James Royer (Luchee), Michael Dean Brumback Jr., Marci Rosalynn Brumback Comet (Michael); and great-grandchildren Conner, Brooke, Ashlyn, Jake, Madison and Dylan.
He is also survived by his sister Mary Kathryn Watkins, sister-in-law Rosellen Chockley (Shore), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Roselene Virginia May Royer, his parents Roy and Margaret, sister Ruthanna, brother Carl, brother-in-law Otis Bent, sister-in-law Annabelle Royer, sister-in-law Rosemary (Shore) and husband Bud Carey, brother-in-law James Chockley, mother-in-law Goldie Springsteen and father-in-law Jesse Shore.

A Memorial Celebration of Life Service was held April 8, 2023.

His life ended here on earth, April 3, 2023, and is now complete in Heaven, in the Joy of the Lord!
