Roy A. Rothenbach

Roy A. Rothenbach, 65 of Carlinville, passed away Sunday evening, July 5, 2026, at his residence in Carlinville, IL.
Roy was born April 27, 1961, in Chicago, IL, a son of Andrew Rothenbach and Wanda (Pokrana) Rothenbach.
He graduated from high school in 1979 and then went on to earn an Associates Degree in Agriculture Sciences.
He married Denise Golonka on November 26, 1993, in Deerfield, IL.
He and his wife lived and worked in northern Illinois, until they moved to Carlinville in 1995, after purchasing property to farm and grow vegetables. He grew many types of produce and sold it at Farmer’s Markets around the area.
Since 2008, he worked at Mennell Milling in Mt. Olive, IL as a mill operator.
Roy’s true love was being outdoors, working on projects around his property, fishing, and tending to his large garden. He also enjoyed spending time playing board games with family, playing with the family dogs, and learning about history.
Roy is survived by his wife, Denise Rothenbach of Carlinville, IL; daughter, April Rothenbach of Havana, IL; mother-in-law, Lillian Golonka; brother-in-law Ken (Laura) Golonka; sister-in-law Cheryl (Dave) Cannon; nephews, Nicholas Lizio and David (D.J.) Cannon; sister, Wendy (Bill Madison) Rothenbach and brother, Arnold (Cheryl) Rothenbach.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
