Andrew “Andy” Louis Freehill

Andrew “Andy” Louis Freehill, 74 of Carlinville, passed away on the evening of Friday, July 3, 2026, at Carlinville Rehab & Health Care in Carlinville, IL.
Andrew was born December 14, 1951, in Urbana, IL, a son of William and Donna Belle (Peters) Freehill.
He graduated from Roberts-Thawville High School with the class of 1970.
He married Karen Milstead on May 7, 1977 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Piper City, IL. They shared 49 loving years together.
Andy was a grain elevator manager at Carlinville Grain for many years. He enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids’ sports events, grilling, and he also enjoyed woodworking and making furniture from the wood off his grandparents farm. Andy also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snow skiing, and going deer and pheasant hunting.
He was a member of SS Mary and Joseph Catholic Church in Carlinville, IL. Andy was also a past member of the Carlinville Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Karen Sue Freehill of Carlinville, IL; daughters, Heather Freehill of Carlinville, IL, Melissa (Andy) Pape of Troy, IL; son, Brandon (Ana) Freehill of Wentzville, MO; grandchildren, Zeke and Frankie Davis, Connor and Carson Pape, and Lucas and Brooklyn Freehill; brothers, Danny (Karen) Freehill of Sulphur, OK, Tim (Lori) Freehill of Crossville, TN; sisters, Susie (Rick) Copass of Decatur, IL, Pam (Mike) Koch of Ft. Meyers Beach, FL, Eileen (Ron) Woolums of Gibson City, IL; sister-in-law, Becky Freehill of Ft. Collins, CO; several nieces and nephews.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, William and Donna Belle Freehill and brothers, Mike and Frank Freehill.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2026 at Davis Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, IL, from 4 to 7 pm. There will be a Prayer Service at 3:45 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Thursday July 9th, 2026 at SS Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville, IL, at 11 a.m.
A private burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery in Roberts, Illinois.
Memorials may be made to Andy’s Grandchildren’s Education Fund or the Carlinville Food Pantry.
