Donald Ray Carty, 85, of Carlinville, IL, passed away at Mercy Hospital, Saint Louis, MO on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 2:19 a.m.

He was born October 1, 1940, in Lesterville, MO to Dallas Clee Carty and Mildred Opal Helms Carty.

He married Donna L. Prichard Carty.

He was a carpenter.

Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting and gambling.

He is survived by his spouse, Donna Carty of Carlinville, IL; children, Fran Daugherty of Carlinville, IL, Tammy (Lynn) Reese of Carlinville, IL, Danny Carty of Carlinville, IL; grandchildren, David (Cindy) Daugherty Jr., Stacey (Brian) Miller, Josh (Beth) Daugherty, Kristin (Jake) Gregory, Kimberly (Travis) Tipps, Kenny (Megan) Reese, Addie Carty, Carrie Daugherty; 16 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sisters, Doris and Sue; brothers, John and Lindell.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Donald Ray Carty; son in law, Dave Daugherty; three brothers and three sisters.

Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
