Diana (Diane) Marie Gross

Diana (Diane) Marie Gross, 78, passed away January 21, 2026. She was born on May 27, 1947 to Thomas and Rosemary Pinnell in Detroit, Michigan.
She was raised in Farmersville, Illinois.
She graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1965.
Diane married her husband James W. Gross of 58 years on March 16, 1968.
Diane especially treasured spending winters in Texas and traveling with her beloved husband, creating memories together year after year. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life-playing bingo, relaxing by the pool, dancing, and sharing good times with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, James Gross of Golden Eagle; daughters, Kerri (husband, Brian) of Plainview, Denise (husband, Teddy) of Palmyra; sisters, Emma (husband, Paul) Esker of Richmond, KY, Susan (husband, Ronald) Convery of Carlinville; aunt, Nancy Lenzi of Taylorville; grandchildren, Brandon Buckner, Katie Stults, Bailey Martin, Jacob Bettis, Caleb Bettis, Cody Austwick; great-grandchildren Arlie Bettis, Lettie Bettis, Wren Stults and Callan Stults; and several nieces and nephews.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas W. Pinnell and Rosemary Pinnell; and brother Thomas W. Pinnell Jr.
A Celebration of Diane’s life will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Elks Lodge 1412, 201 West Main Street, Carlinville, IL.
There will be a private burial at Rovey Cemetery, Farmersville, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
