Macoupin County 2025 consolidated election candidates

The 2025 consolidated election will be held April 1. There are several positions up for grabs in city and village elections in Macoupin County and many contested races.

School Boards

Seth Roberts, Andrew Johnson, Jonathan Truax and Kyle Bradley are all running for seats on the Carlinville School Board. Voters may vote for three of these candidates.

In the Northwestern School District, Kara Cox, Brock Campbell and Lisa Meisenheimer are running.

In Mt. Olive, Lindsey Knes, Blake Bertles and Janet Readenour are running for school board.
Poonam Jain, Robert Leitz and John Renner are running for seats in the Staunton district. There is no candidate for the unexpired two year term in that district.

Peyton Bernot, Dennis Tiburzi and William Carter are running for Gillespie School Board members.

In Bunker Hill, Lindsey Kahl, Jonathan Burris, Jennifer Daniel and Jamie Payne are running for school board, voters may vote for three of these candidates. Brandon Rull is also running for the unexpired two year term.

In the Southwestern district, Donna Loy, Brad Schuchman and Jenny Hanks are candidates.

Andrew Webb is running for District 2 North Mac board member. Jeremy White is running for district 3 board member to fill an unexpired two year term and Jodi Alexander is running for the district 4 seat. There is no candidate for the North Mac District 5 seat.

Gabriel Pope, Gretchen Rovey and Scott Cowdrey are running for the Panhandle School Board.

Julie Abel, Ron Anglin and Mandy Jewell are running for the Litchfield School Board.

Town Offices

In Bunker Hill, residents can choose between Alan Mize and John Chapman to be their mayor. Running for City Clerk is Heather Kraus and Lisa Webb is running for Treasurer. In Ward 1, Cherie Mortland, Richard Girth and Betty Phelps are running for alderman, voters may choose two of the candidates. Grover Webb is running for Ward 2 alderman and Carlos Arzuagas is running for a two year unexpired term in Ward 2.

There is a four way race for Carlinville mayor. Doug Downey, James Spoon, Randall Link and Marsha Rhodes are all on the ballot for the position. Mary Heller is the sole candidate for Carlinville City Clerk. Current City Clerk, Carla Brockmeier, is running for the office of alderman in Ward 2. In Ward 1, John Levora is seeking re-election to his seat and current city treasurer Jody Reichmann is running for the unexpired two year term in that ward. There are no candidates for Ward 3 alderman and Victoria Wagstaff is seeking re-election as a Ward 4 alderman.

Landon Pettit and David Link are battling for the title of Mayor in Gillespie. Tammy Beechler is the sole candidate for city clerk and there is no candidate for treasurer. Robert Fritz Jr., is running for ward 1 alderman, Frank Barrett Jr., is running for ward 2 alderman. There is no candidate for ward 3 and Janet Odell-Mueller is running for ward 4 alderman.

In the Girard race, Joseph Marko and Scott Thomas are on the ballot for mayor. Paula Mouser is the only candidate for city clerk and Ryan Leonard the only candidate for treasurer. Kenneth Fox is running for alderman in ward 1, Patrick Martin in ward 2 and Tim McLean in ward 3.

The mayoral race in Mt. Olive is between three candidates, Marcia Schulte, Jane Roberts and Brian Kosowski. Melinda Zippay is running for city clerk and Bryce Bone for treasurer. In ward 1, Michele Zippay is running for election as alderman. Vern Schulte is running in ward 2 with Donnie Nowell seeking an unexpired two year term in that same ward. In ward 3 voters may choose between John Skertick and Theresa Kirkwood. In ward 4, voters choose between Mark Voyles, Thomas Curtis and Tyler Johnson.

Craig Neuhaus is seeking re-election for Staunton Mayor and is running unopposed. Dennis Stiegemeier is running for city clerk, also unopposed. Cindy Pirok is on the ballot for treasure. David Manning in running for ward 1 alderman, Kristy Berg for ward 2. There is no candidate for the unexpired two year terms in ward 2 or ward 3. Ryan Machota is running for alderman in ward 3 and Matthew McKee in ward 4.

George Murphy is the sole candidate for Virden mayor. Jonathan Myint is running for city clerk. Voters may choose between Gary Mottershaw and Joshua Krrick for alderman in ward 1. Craig Neighbors is running for ward 2 alderman. There are no candidate for ward 3 or to fill the unexpired two year term in that ward. Aaron Matrisch and Raymond Mitchell are going head to head in the race for ward 4 alderman and there is no candidate for the unexpired two year term in that ward.

Villages

Matthew Kasten is running for re-election to the President of Brighton. Aaron Mead, James Winslade and Bradley Arnold are running for trustees.

In East Gillespie, Larry Norville is running for president. Brian Engelke is running for village clerk and Bradley Buckner, Bruce Hedrick and Dennis Tallman are running for trustee. There is no candidate for the two year unexpired trustee position.

Medora residents can choose between Derek Isringhausen or Cory Hill for village president. Kimberly Kessinger is on the ballot for village clerk. Jill Grant, Danielle Moore, Jerry Manula and Earl Bailey are running for trustee in Medora, voters may choose three candidates.

Thomas Thompson is running for President in Modesto. Jaden Dugger and DeAnn Arnold are both on the ballot for village clerk. Steven Rothe and Martha Anderson are running for village trustee.

In Mt. Clare, Jerry Rondi is running for president. Klayton Buhs, Steve Fellin and Greg Miller are on the ballot for village trustees.

Sandra Gatermann is running for president in Nilwood. Donald Wilson, John Caudle and Craig Bridges are running for trustees.

In Palmyra, W. Bradley Bacon is running for village president. Scott McAdams, Aaron Williams, Jordan Releford and Gordon Probst are running for trustee positions, voters may choose three candidates.

Parkeoka Huddleston is running for president of Royal Lakes. Velma Caver is running for village clerk. Latoya Goode, Karl Jefferson, Nina Petty, Amber Rucker, Gregory Fraizer and Gary Weber are running for village trustee, voters may choose three candidates. Renee Jefferson, London Simmons and Tonya Stainback are running to fill an unexpired two year term.

Craig Reed is running for village president of Standard City. Christi Harris is running for village clerk and Rebecca Griffith for treasurer. Richard Griffith and Amanda Leibovitz are the candidates for trustee. There is no candidate running to fill the two year unexpired term.

There is a three-way fight for Wilsonville village president between Bob Haney, Roland Rife and Brain Voyles. Tena Cerentano and Michelle Voyles are running for clerk. Donald Montoro, Jennifer Byrd, Gary McEuen and Timothy Campbell are candidates for trustee, voters may vote for three candidates. Pam Zaksas is running to fill the two year unexpired term for the trustee position.
