HS girls’ basketball: Tiburzi and Wiser set historical marks for Carlinville, Cavies beat Greenfield-Northwestern

Isabella Tiburzi and Braley Wiser set historical marks for the Carlinville High School girls’ basketball team last week.

In addition to leading the Cavaliers to a convincing 59-29 victory at Greenfield-Northwestern with 17 tallies Nov. 26, Tiburzi became the 13th Cavalier to score 1,000 points for her career. Jordyn Loveless added 12 points while Kaitlyn and Ruthie Reels contributed 10 tallies apiece.

Carlinville suffered its first loss against a talented Pleasant Plains squad at the Big House Nov. 25. The Cavaliers were defeated by the Cardinals, 54-34, but Wiser set a CHS school record with her 120th career three-pointer.

Tiburzi also had another strong outing with 18 points for the Cavies.

Carlinville is 3-1 overall.
