Carole M. Allan

 

Carole M. Allan, 90, of Palmyra, IL passed away Sunday evening, May 24, 2026, at her home in rural Palmyra.

 

She was born March 17, 1936, in Havana, IL a daughter of Ewald and Josephine (Davis) Trimpe.

 

Carole graduated from Havana High School in Havana, IL.

 

She married John D. Kromer in 1967 and had two children with him before he passed in 1996. Carole then married Tom Allan, who preceded her in death in 2015.

 

Carole was a nurse’s aid, worked as a House Parent at Peaceful Valley with her late husband John, and she worked at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services until her retirement.

 

Carole enjoyed reading, biking, going on walks, and taking care of her family.

 

Carole attended First Christian Church of Girard, IL.

 

Carole is survived by her sons, David D. (Toni) Kromer of Hettick, IL, Johnnie C. Kromer, Sr. of Palmyra, IL and grandchildren Kayla, Kara, Megan and Johnnie Jr.

 

Carole was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John D. Kromer; second husband, Tom Allan and sister Donna Boyer.

 

A Private Graveside service will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville, IL, with burial to follow.

 

Memorials may be made to Staunton Memorial Hospital.
