Carlinville football makes 64-21 statement on Homecoming

Homecoming night was one to remember at Carlinville High School as the football team made a 64-21 statement over rival North Mac Sept. 26.

The Cavaliers forced five turnovers and compiled 455 yards of offense en route to their fourth consecutive victory.

After surrendering the game’s opening touchdown on a 19-yard pass by Carter Powell to Kadin Casey, the Cavaliers put together four unanswered scoring drives that all ended with a Joel White touchdown rush. White added a fifth touchdown with 6:50 left in the first half and ended the evening with 145 yards on 18 carries.

As the CHS band took the field along with many alumni musicians for the halftime show, Carlinville already had the game in check with a 43-14 advantage.
