Staunton middle school baseball team headed to state

After venturing through a season that was filled with many ups and downs, the Staunton middle school baseball turned up its game when it mattered most and earned a trip to the Illinois Elementary School Class 2A state tournament. Staunton entered regionals as the third seed and took out Calhoun, 12-2, before upsetting arch-rival and second-seeded foe Gillespie, 10-4.
