Michelle Elaine Schwab

Michelle Elaine Schwab, 58 of Carlinville passed away Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Nov. 23, 1966, in Alton, a daughter of Clyde and Doris Braden Sarginson.

Michelle graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1984.

She married Patrick Schwab on July 12, 1991, in Carlinville.

She worked for Millers Mutual Insurance in Alton as a re-insurance analyst for 35 years, and retired in 2010.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and reading.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Patrick of Carlinville; son, Andrew of Carlinville; brothers, Brian (Rebecca) Sarginson of Granite City, Monte Sarginson, England; sisters, Christy Tejml of Hutto, TX, Jennifer Sarginson-Barboza of TX, Melanie Sarginson of Carlinville, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jackie Sarginson; brothers, Jeff Sarginson and Kevin Sarginson.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
