Steven Christopher Gietl

Steven Christopher Gietl, 57, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at his residence in Lafayette, LA.

He was born on March 8, 1968.

Steven graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1986. He joined the Army after graduation and served his country as a medic during the Gulf War. After leaving the Army he studied nursing and graduated with a Nursing Degree from the University of Texas.

He worked many years as an RN and sometimes as a general handyman.

He loved music, animals and visiting his family in Illinois whenever possible.

Steve is survived by his mother and stepfather Karen and Ken Price; brother, Scott Gietl; sister, Stacie (Chris) Wygal and nephews, Caden and Colby Wygal.

Burial will be at Camp Butler in Springfield with a private service.
