Kenneth James Grimmett

 

Kenneth James Grimmett, 69 of Virden passed away on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at his home.

He was born May 16, 1955 in Carlinville, the son of Coy C., Sr. and Frances JoAnn (Baker) Grimmett.

Kenneth was very proud of his service to our Country, serving in the United States Navy, where he became disabled.

He was a wonderful sculptor and guitar player.

Kenneth is survived by his children, Jesse Grimmett, Jamie Paul Smith, Danielle Grimmett, Kara Grimmett; grandchildren; brothers, Coy (Michele) Grimmett, Jr., Robert (Judy) Bell; sisters, Debra (Brian) Nichols, Cynthia Ann (Gene) Harper, Kimberly Bell, Cara Grimmett; his step-mother Kathy Grimmett; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Brandon Grimmett and his sisters, Laura and Ellisa.

In keeping with his wishes, Cremation Rites have been accorded. Graveside Services with full Military Rites at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, were held Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024.

Memorials may be made to the Veteran’s Affairs and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden.
