Carlinville High School presents: Shrek the Musical

Get ready to embark on a fantastical journey as Carlinville High School proudly presents Shrek the Musical! From the swampy marsh to the kingdom of Duloc, talented students are bringing the beloved characters of the beloved animated film to life.

Shrek the Musical follows the journey of Shrek (Patrick Dunn), a lovable ogre, as he sets off on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona (Emily Barbre) from a tower guarded by a fire-breathing dragon (Juliann Amos). Along the way, he encounters the wisecracking Donkey (Zander Poe), a hilarious assortment of fairy tale and odd creatures (including Victorya Barber, Raegan Carty, Catherine DeLong, Amaya Emery, Cash Enrietta, Clara Gray, Adelle Hammann, Adelynn Hunt, Annalee Johns, Michael Kaganich, Lillian McCurley, Shelbie Parnell, Anna Petrovich, Grace Pigott, Madalyn Quarton, Adair Sullivan, Cole Sullivan, Avery Troutwine, Hannah Truax, Houston Turley, Cade Vinyard, Claire Vinyard, John White) and a band of villains (including Isabella Alepra, Charlee Dugger, Abbie Heusing, Allie Heusing, Christopher Lack, Bailey Maberry, Alyna Madison, Tyler Summers, Lana Totsch) under the rule of the pint-sized Lord Farquaad (Lucas Wieties), all of whom teach him valuable lessons about acceptance, friendship, and true love.

This production promises to delight audiences of all ages with its catchy songs, dazzling dance numbers, and heartwarming story. The cast, crew and band have been working tirelessly to bring the magic of the swamp to life, and their dedication and passion shine through in every performance.

Our students have poured their hearts and souls into this production, and we can’t wait for the community to experience the joy and laughter of Shrek’s world.”

Performances will take place on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 at 7:00pm in the Carlinville High School Gymnasium. Tickets are available for advanced purchase at or at the door on show nights. There will be an Ice Cream Social hosted by the Carlinville Public School Foundation following Friday’s performance.
