Macoupin County athletes take over All-SCC baseball and softball teams
The Carlinville High School softball team is returning every player on its roster following a 19-win season that resulted in an IHSA Class 2A regional championship runner-up to state-ranked Stanford (Olympia). The Carlinville High School baseball team, under the leadership of All-SCC honorees Sam Quarton, Zach Reels, Henry Kufa, Liam Tieman, Jake Schwartz and Ryenn Hart, put together one of the best seasons in program history. The majority of talent on the 2023 South Central All-Conference baseball and softball teams was provided by Macoupin County schools.
Local stars from all four grade levels generated major depth at each position and ensured that fans could anticipate many competitive rivalries in the coming years.
