Sharon Marie Hatley

 

Sharon Marie Hatley, 62 of Hettick, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 5, 2022, at her residence in Hettick.

Sherri was born July 15, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, a daughter of Wallace Reid and Helen (Denny) Willard.

She married Thomas E. Hatley, Dec. 21, 1991 in St. Peters, Mo.

Sherri was a Navy wife to Tom for 30 years, moving from base to base and raising their four children.

She loved to garden and was a published photographer for several of her photos.  Once the family settled down in Hettick, her love of animals grew. You could find about any kind on the farm.

Sherri enjoyed raising goats, donkeys and horses of all breeds and especially Haflinger.  Her special gardening talents were pumpkins, Sherri had her own special seed that she developed.  A well known seed company packaged her variety for resale.

Sherri is survived by her husband, Dr. Thomas E. Hatley of Hettick; daughter, Rachel Ellen Hatley of Chesterfield; sons, Scott Edward Hatley, Luke Hardy Hatley, and Kurtis Thomas Hatley all of Hettick; two grandchildren; brothers, Greg (Linda) Willard of Chicago, Wallace Willard of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Sandy Reith of North Port, Florida and twelve nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Willard and sister, Susan Willard.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022 at the funeral home with Father Alan Hunter of Litchfield, officiating.

Burial will follow in Chesterfield Cemetery, Chesterfield.

Memorials may be made to Carlinville Area Hospital.
