Janie Alison Denzel

 

Janie Alison (Noll) Denzel, passed away on Nov. 27, 2022. She was born on May 20, 1954 and raised in Edwardsville, by Vernon and Loretta Noll.

Janie attended St. Boniface Catholic School and graduated from Edwardsville High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1976.

She spent nearly 40 years in the insurance industry and, in 2019, she retired from Munich Reinsurance Company as a Vice President & Casualty Manager of Underwriting in the Kansas City branch.

She met her husband, Robert (Bob) Denzel, in 1980 while they both worked for USF&G Insurance Company. On May 29, 1981 they were married at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon.

Janie also enjoyed traveling. She and her family took annual trips to Beaver Creek, Colorado in July and visited Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with Bob almost every year. They took numerous cruises and visited Caribbean resorts. Janie also traveled to Germany and Austria.

Janie and her daughter Ali were immersed in the world of Morgan horses, traveling to countless regional and national horse shows.

She leaves her husband, Bob Denzel, of 41½ years; her daughter, Ali Denzel (Kenny) Clark; her beloved dog, Charlie; sister, Dr. Jacqueline Zimmerman and two brothers, Dr. Jeffrey (Tami) Noll, and Kevin (Gayle) Noll.

Her parents and her older brother, Michael, preceded her in death.

There was a celebration of life for family and friends on Dec. 7, 2022, at Stonebridge Trails Clubhouse located at 16470 W. 165th Street, Olathe, KS 66062. Burial will be for the immediate family in the mountains of Colorado in the summer of 2023.
