Alberta Lucille Damm

 

Alberta Lucille Damm, 80 of Carlinville, passed away Tuesday evening, Nov. 29, 2022, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Alberta was born Feb. 18, 1942, in Palmyra, a daughter of Ralph F. and Dorothy (Guilander) Burrell.

She had worked at several area nursing homes as a cook. Alberta loved her cats and other animals.  She once had a kind of a pet possum that she fed daily along with raccoons and any other creature that came visiting.  She loved to put puzzles together and cook for her large family.

Alberta is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hartline of Carlinville; son, Lindell Damm of Carlinville, son, Lonnie (Angie) Damm of Palmyra, daughter, Rhonda (Andy) Solomon of Palmyra, son, Kerry (Tammi) Damm of Irving, daughter, Shannon (fiance’ Carl Albracht) Damm of Palmyra; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Pocklington of Palmyra, Ann Frye of Carlinville; brothers, Keith Burrell of Carlinville and Marion Burrell of Carlinville.

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Damm; sister, Mary Nance and brother, Carl Burrell.

Services were held on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, with Rev. Cliff Woodman officiating.

Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, Palmyra to be buried next to her son.

Memorials may be made to Macoupin County Animal Shelter.
